Capturing your own style takes time and effort. It can also take a little help. We start by talking through your tastes and goals. We help you select the best fabrics for your room and your style. And we end up with a perfectly customized look that can only come from one person – you.

Here’s how to begin:
Gather examples of what you like.
Visit calicocorners.com and be inspired. Or find magazine and catalog swipes, assemble Pinterest boards or Houzz ideas – anything that will give us a sense of your style.
Ask yourself a few questions.
Do you want your room to be layered and luxurious or tailored and understated? Colorful and eclectic or casual and contemporary? And functionally, what are your needs? Do you want privacy or glare control in your window treatments? Furniture fabrics that can stand up to kids and pets? We can do it all!
Show us your room.
Take out your cell phone and shoot the room from different angles. It will help us see the size and shape of your windows and any architectural challenges. If there’s a major focal point that will dictate décor (such as art, antiques or area rugs), be sure we see that, too. For in-home consultations, email photos beforehand so we can do our homework. If you’d prefer to come to a design shop, bring samples of existing fabrics and other materials that you want to retain (arm covers, pillows) plus paint chips, carpet, or tiles if you have them.
Take a rough measure.
If you’re considering window treatments, for estimating purposes, we’ll need to know the approximate window dimensions, number of windows, and ceiling height – plus any features we need to work around, like bookcases, shelving, radiators, French doors and so forth.

Our design services are FREE – whether you come to the design shop or we come to you. If you live more than 50 miles from a Calico location, a $100 travel fee will apply, which may be refunded when an order is placed.
