A metal bed frame is included with the purchase of the "headboard only" option.
Upholstered side rails are included with the headboard/footboard combination.
Headboard/footboard combination: Measurement from floor to top of slats where box spring rests is 8".
Headboard only: Measurement from floor to metal frame bracket where box spring will rest is 7 1/2".
